The outback is no place for visitors. We nearly lost another tourist, she decided to walk in the desert out from Alice Springs, and got lost. Surprise surprise. Temperatures of over 35 degrees, a vast wilderness and visitors blithely head off into the scrub, and then are surprised when they cannot find there way out. Death quite often follows. This one was lucky, she was escorted out to Alice Springs and needed medical attention.
